The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the information technology (IT) arm of the Indian Railways, launched Rail Radar, which allows the public to track train movement.

The service is running in beta at railradar.trainenquiry.com, and it is currently programmed to track 6,500 of the total 10,000 trains operated by the Indian Railways. Rail Radar gives information about a train’s arrival at the various stops on its route, and displays its location on the country’s map.

Currently, RailRadar is configured to update/refresh itself every five minutes, which means that in any scenario, the location and status of the trains displayed on Rail Radar will always be five or more minutes delayed. CRIS had announced the launch of the app at NAMA conference hosted by Medianama in Gurgaon.

Roomba 780: A less than 10cm tall robot

The Roomba 780 is a robotic vacuum cleaner that’s less than 10cm tall.
The Roomba is a series of  autonomous robotic vacuum cleaners sold by iRobot. Under normal operating conditions, it is able to navigate a living space and common obstacles while vacuuming the floor. Several updates and new models have since been released that allow the Roombas to better negotiate obstacles and optimize cleaning.
The Roomba was introduced in 2002 As of February 2011, iRobot claims that over 6 million units have been sold.

The Roomba features a set of basic sensors that allow it to prevent itself from falling down stairs, change its direction when it bumps into an obstacle, and detect exceptionally dirty spots on the floor. It has two motorized wheels that can operate independently from each other. The Roomba uses the wheels to move forward and turn around its own axis to go in another direction.
